The Mellotron put an orchestra at the fingertips and redefined what it was to be a keyboard player. Now with modifications never dreamed of in the 1960s, our faithfully modeled reproduction will infuse your sound with updated vintage goodness. From psychedelic rock to rocking your world. In the mid ‘60s, the Mellotron thrilled keyboardists with the ability to play tape-based recordings of actual orchestral instruments—adding its own quirky sonic character. Whether you’re conjuring the classics or creating new ones, adding this vintage sound to your music with Mellotron V is sure to make people sit up and listen. Mellotron V puts the orchestral sounds of classic art rock right in your hands—cape optional. Imagine a pre-digital world where sampling didn’t exist and the only way to incorporate orchestral realism in your music was, well, to hire an actual orchestra. Enter the Mellotron circa 1963. We’ve lovingly re-engineered it in Mellotron V for your music circa today.
Better? Or just louder? Ever wonder, “how loud should my music be?” Many people prefer louder music – that’s how the loudness wars started – but too much “loudness processing” can do more harm than good… Squashed, dull, flat sound – or even pumping and distortion. Now, with Perception, you can zero in on your music’s loudness “sweet spot”.
What is Chordjam? Chordjam is an innovative plugin that builds chords and progression patterns through intuitive user-guided randomization. It automatically randomizes a unique combination of parameters, serving up unpredictable but always-musical variations.
Mikron Chorus was inspired by the Juno chorus, the chorus effect found in the Roland Juno synthesizer as well as the Boss/Roland chorus pedals from the 70/80ies. It has the same signal routing as the Roland/Boss CE2, and the spectral characteristics of its bucket brigade delay chips, but without the noise that always accompanies bucket brigade delays. Mikron Chorus has the same ease of use as the pedals it was inspired by, with just a few handy extra features. Where the CE2 only had adjustable rate and depth. Mikron Chorus adds adjustable delay time, feedback and mix. This gives you not only more flexibility, but makes it also possible to use Mikron Chorus as a flanger by dialling in shorter delay times, and adding feedback. Last, but not least there is the stereo mode that you can use to give the chorus extra spaciousness.
With Mikron Reverb you can beam your music into the right atmosphere in a heartbeat. This colorful, stompbox inspired plugin is the little brother of our widely acclaimed Redline Reverb. It has the same warm and lush, ‘lexicon-ish’ sound, but a completely different mode of operation. In Mikron Reverb the majority of the parameters of Redline Reverb are hidden behind just a few intuitive knobs. It incorporates an intelligent algorithm that determines the ideal settings for those parameters for a wide variety of room characteristics. The idea behind this algorithm is that when you dial in a certain kind of reverb you usually are not interested in the reverberations of all possible rooms and positions in those rooms, but only those that will give you a superb or interesting sound. There are a lot of concert halls, but only a few are praised for their acoustics. And there is only one spot in a concert hall were the band sounds at it’s best. It’s those great sounding reverberations that we tried to capture.
“True Analog In-The-Box” sound is due to our unique development heritage: we first created an analog console processor and then converted the processor to digital while retaining the sound and character of the original analog system. The AVA Multiband Compressor is the latest generation of our highly-regarded multiband compressor algorithm. The AVA plugin is enhanced for use in today’s DAW-centric workflows, with advanced features like a sidechain “key” input and multichannel (surround) capability.
