SCAMP VST v1.3.1 WiN MAC

TEAM R2R 2014.12.15 | WiN: 2.8 MB | MAC: 4.23 MB

SCAMP is a resonant low/high-pass filter plug-in VST effect for Windows with a very convincing, classic sound. SCAMP features a separate envelope follower for each of 6 channels, a host-syncable LFO with multiple waveforms, as well as our special Gliss-quanti feature for creating staircased LFO waveforms from the basic waveshapes. Also supported is full automation and MIDI CC control of all parameters.

SCAMP more closely models the actual circuit paths of real world analog circuits than most other common digital filter designs. For this reason it is also a far more processor-intensive effect, expect SCAMP to require processing power similar to the level of a powerful soft-synth. It may not be for every day use (or it may well be, depending on the type of music you make!) but on those days when you really want “the vintage filter sound”, SCAMP is the way to get it!

Many other filter designs, while more computationally efficient, don’t actually model the real-world operation of the circuit at all. Rather, they re-produce a “characterization” of the filter’s response. While this method actually performs quite well “on paper”, and can produce very transparent and precisely controlled digital filters, these qualities just aren’t well suited to re-creating that classic analog warmth that so many musicians seek. It was essentially the flaws and design sacrifices of the original analog circuits which gave them the sound. For SCAMP, we’ve done our best to make your computer believe that it is an analog circuit, as flawed, imperfect and full of warmth as the classic gear that inspired its development.

Rather than reproducing a theoretical characterization of a real filter’s performance with techniques that really have nothing to do with how the actual device works, SCAMP instead uses a brute force, simulation-based approach that essentially duplicates the signal flow of the real analog item, but without any mathematical over-simplification or characterization. What happens to the sound processed by SCAMP happens only because the raw physics of the real circuit are being simulated. This simulation runs internally at a highly oversampled rate to duplicate the behavior of the real circuit across the entire range of human hearing — and even beyond! (SCAMP exhibits similar artifacts to those that real analog filters create when strong resonant peaks are created at the highest, ultrasonic cutoff frequencies. Generally you will want to avoid these artifacts, but they can be used to create distortion effects if you wish!)

The simulation technique used in SCAMP has proven to produce a very authentic sound, virtually duplicating the same imperfections and distortion qualities that gave the famous classic analog filters their characteristic “warmth”. With a real resonance feedback loop that actually “rings”, a powerful set of controls for modulating the filter and a strong emphasis on real-time performance and MIDI compatibility, SCAMP is a re-creation of a classic filter effect that never was.

SCAMP is perfectly suited for re-creating the sounds made by running external audio through an analog synthesizer’s filters. While external audio processing is also offered by some other high-priced soft-synth products, it is now available as a very affordable stand-alone effect that’s specialized to the task, with a quality and authenticity unmatched even by the big-boys. Whether used on a single instrument track, or for processing an entire mix, SCAMP will dramatically alter your audio with a classic flavor. If you have an appreciation for the sound, behavior and quirks of vintage analog filters that you haven’t yet seen duplicated by software, SCAMP may be the effect plug-in you’ve been waiting for.

VST AAX RTAS VST3 x86 x64

Blue Cat’s MB-7 Mixer is a unique plug-in that splits the signal into several frequency bands and lets you mix and process them as if they were separate tracks. Each band proposes controls that can be found on a mixing console, and more: bypass, mute or solo each band separately to isolate frequencies you want to work on, adjust the gain, the “stereoness” and the position in the stereo field. When manipulating the stereo image, a master mono switch also lets you check mono compatibility.

The plug-in can also operate as a multiband VST and Audio Unit host: you can process each band independently with your favorite VST or Audio Unit plug-ins! Up to four plug-ins can be loaded on each band, pre or post fader. Latency compensation, presets management, undo/redo integration, and individual plug-in bypass are included for optimal operation.

The plug-in also proposes unique linking and grouping options thanks to our multi-instances technology. You can link bands together within a single instance or between several instances of the plug-in on different tracks. This lets a simple fader control as many bands on as many tracks as you want. This is particularly useful when adjusting the placement or the balance of several

ValhallaPlate is our algorithmic take on the classic plate reverberation sound. Twelve original algorithms emulate the sound and behavior of real world steel plate reverbs, and take the sound into dimensions that physical plates can’t touch.

  • ValhallaPlate realistically models the physics of plate reverbs:
    • High diffusion, for reverbs that have maximally high echo density.
    • Frequency dependent decay time, for huge lows and clear highs, under the control of a single Decay parameter.
    • Dispersion, for creating 3D imaging in the decay. The reverb comes from outside the speakers, and decays into the depths behind the speakers.
  • ValhallaPlate extends the plate reverb into dimensions that real plates can’t reach:
    • Variable size, to control how metallic a reverb mode sounds. Small sizes result in more metallic delays, while larger sizes sound clearer.
    • Lush modulation, that eliminates any metallic artifacts, while retaining the pitch of the input.
  • Twelve original reverberation algorithms (5 new algorithms added to version 1.5.0):
    • Four reverb modes (Chrome, Steel, Brass, Cobalt) that emulate “true stereo” plates, with 2 input drivers and 2 output pickups.
    • Three reverb modes (Adamantium, Titanium, Osmium)  that emulate the traditional mono-in, stereo-out plates. These modes have the resonance density found in real plate reverberators.
    • Five reverb modes (Aluminum, Copper, Unobtanium, Radium, Lithium) that combine the 3D dispersive characteristics of steel plates with the high resonance density found in reverberation chambers.
    • All of the modes can be run as a mono-in/mono-out, mono-in/stereo-out, or stereo-in/stereo-out plugin.
  • ValhallaPlate builds upon the Valhalla DSP plugin heritage:
    • Minimalist, resizable 2D GUI, with self-documenting tool tip area.
    • A comprehensive preset browser makes saving, recalling and sharing settings easy.
    • Fully compatible with 32 and 64 bit DAWs (32/64 bit VST for OSX and Windows, 32/64 bit Audio Units for OSX, 32-bit RTAS for OSX and Windows, 64-bit AAX for OSX and Windows).
    • Low CPU usage! You can use all the instances you need without your computer slowing down.

P2P | 15.05.2017 | WiN: 4.16 MB

R2R-based | AU/VST/RTAS 32/64 | MAC: 11.50 MB

ValhallaVintageVerb is a postmodern reverb plugin, inspired by the classic hardware digital reverbs of the 1970s and 1980s. New in ValhallaVintageVerb 1.7.1: Two new reverb modes, Chaotic Hall and Chaotic Chamber!

17 Reverb Algorithms:

  • Concert Hall. Based on the hall algorithms of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Huge spatial image, echo density that can be adjusted from very sparse to very dense, and lush chorusing modulation.
  • Bright Hall. Similar to the Concert Hall algorithm, but with a brighter initial sound, and deeper and lusher modulation.
  • Plate. Inspired by early 1980s plate algorithms. Highly diffuse, bright initial sound, high echo density, lush chorused modulation.
  • Room. Emulates the sound of early 1980s room algorithms. Medium diffusion/early echo density, somewhat darker sound, chorused modulation.
  • Chamber. A transparent and dense algorithm. Highly diffuse, high echo density, less coloration than Plate/Room algorithms, chorused modulation.
  • Random Space. This generates DEEP and WIDE reverbs, with a slow attack, and more diffusion than the late 1980s algorithms that inspired it. The modulation uses internal delay randomization, to reduce metallic artifacts without the pitch change that can occur in the algorithms with chorused modulation.
  • Chorus Space. Same as Random Space, but with the delay randomization replaced with lush chorused modulation.
  • Ambience. Combines time varying randomized early reflections with a full-featured reverb tail, with the balance between early and late reverb controlled by the Attack knob. Useful for adding “air” to drums, vocals, and any place where a reverb should be felt but not heard.
  • Sanctuary. Inspired by a classic German digital reverberator from the 1970s. Discrete early reflections, a dense late reverb that rapidly builds in echo density, lush detuned modulation. Sanctuary incorporates the bit reduction and floating-point gain control used in the A/D and D/A convertors of the early digital hardware.
  • Dirty Hall. A fresh look at the Concert Hall algorithm, with the goal being to emulate the strange fixed point and convertor artifacts of early 80s reverb hardware. Lusher and denser than the Concert Hall algorithm, with loads of warmth and grit on tap, for a roughly hewn beauty. Plug in your analog synth and send yourself into retro sci-fi heaven.
  • Dirty Plate. All the warm and gritty artifacts of Dirty Hall, applied to an old-school digital plate algorithm. High echo density, wide stereo image, and just the right amount of metallic sheen. Drums come alive when sent through Dirty Plate.
  • Smooth Plate. The complete opposite of Dirty Plate. Smooth decay at all settings, from short to near-eternal. Lush chorusing, with none of the metal found in Dirty Plate. The most transparent and naturalistic reverb in ValhallaVintageVerb. Crank up the Size parameter, and float off into space!
  • Smooth Room. A smooth and transparent room reverb, in the Smooth Plate style. Useful for emulating the Room/Hall algorithms of late 1980s hardware, as well as getting clear reverberation with low amounts of coloration.
  • Smooth Random. A random room/hall algorithm, with transparent decays that can be adjusted from tiny to huge. Randomized delay modulation, similar to Random Space, but with a much tighter initial attack and smoother decay. A good “jack of all trades” reverb algorithm.
  • Nonlin. Gated, reverse, and nonlinear reverbs are all on tap here. Use Size to control the duration of the reverb, and Attack to smoothly interpolate between a truncated reverb, a “flat” gated decay, and huge reverse reverbs. Lush chorusing modulation on tap, for your shoegazing needs.
  • Chaotic Hall (new in 1.7.1). A chaotic take on the Concert Hall algorithm, with modulation and saturation artifacts inspired by classic tape echoes. Lush and warm, with subtle wow and flutter chorusing that adds depth without making your reverb seasick.
  • Chaotic Chamber (new in 1.7.1). Smooth and chaotic at the same time. A relatively “dimensionless” reverb algorithm, that adds depth to your sound. Wow and flutter modulation, subtle tape saturation. Use this algorithm on pretty much any input, and it will sound good.

3 Color Modes for dialing in the tone color and sonic artifacts of a specific reverb era:

  • 1970s. Replicates the reduced bandwidth of the earliest digital reverberators (10 kHz maximum output frequency). Downsampled internally, to reproduce the artifacts of running at a lower sampling rate. The modulation is dark and noisy, and can produce strange and random sidebands with sustained notes. This is intentional.
  • 1980s. Full bandwidth / sampling rate, for a brighter sound than the 1970s. The modulation is still dark and noisy, but will produce different artifacts than the 1970s mode as it is running at the full sampling rate.
  • NOW. Full bandwidth / sampling rate. The modulation is clean and colorless, versus the funky artifacts of the 1970s/1980s modes.

The interface has been designed to be instantly accessible and user friendly:

  • Streamlined set of powerful parameters, organized into logical categories.
  • All controls on one panel. No menu diving required.
  • Tooltips at the bottom of the plugin window, that describe the currently selected reverb mode and color mode, as well as any parameters the user is adjusting. The goal is for the plugin to be self-documenting.
  • A powerful cross-platform preset menu, with the ability to copy and paste presets in a text format. Share presets via emails, forum posts, etc.
  • Continuously resizable – just click on the lower right corner and drag to the desired size.
  • Modernist, minimalist 2D graphic design.
  • New in 1.7.1: Click on the “GUI Mode” text in the upper right corner of the NOW color mode, to switch between the original black-on-white color scheme, and the brand new white-on-black GUI.
